Early Childhood Education

Dalhousie offers 3 education programs for children. These include: Dalhousie Community Preschool, Dalhousie Community Kindergarten and Dalhousie Out of School Care. Open Houses and Registration are in January 2024.

The Dalhousie Community Preschool is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy of education. This philosophy of teaching (originally from Italy) is based on observing children; what they know, what they are curious about, how they learn and what challenges them. Dalhousie Community Kindergarten is a special experience for both children and families. We are one of only a few independently operated ECS programs in Alberta are funded and accredited by Alberta Education.  The Dalhousie Community Kindergarten has been in operation for over 50 years, and proudly offer a unique kindergarten experience.  We offer kindergarten and junior kindergarten programs, with classes five days a week. Dalhousie Out of School Care Program is a Licensed Childcare Service, catering to families who live and/or interact within the community of Dalhousie.
