Dalhousie Holiday Light Contest

Do you or a neighbor have a great outdoor holiday light display in the yard?  This year the Dalhousie Community Association is hosting a virtual Dalhousie Holiday Light Contest!  We want to highlight as many decorated yards as possible this holiday season, but we need your help!   We will present a list on our website, www.dalhousiecalgary.ca, for you to refer to so you can see all the nominated houses on display in Dalhousie!

Send submissions to admin@dalhousiecalgary.ca.  With your submission please send the house owners full name, address, and phone number and a photo of the display (if you have one).  You may send your nomination starting December 3rd until December 23rd by noon, and starting December 23rd, 2020 the voting will start and voting will continue through until January 10th, 2021!  The nominated house with the most votes will win a prize!

Letters To Seniors

From December 2nd until December 23rd the Dalhousie Community Centre is encouraging the young ones of Dalhousie to send some fun holiday mail to help brighten some spirits of seniors that may be spending the holidays alone or those that just need some extra holiday cheer!

You can drop off your letter and perhaps a colored picture at the Dalhousie Community Centre to be sent to a local resident.  You can either drop it off with staff Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am-5pm (please ring door bell) or you can drop it off any time in an envelope in the DCA mailbox that is to the left of the front doors.

Could you use a little holiday cheer? Maybe through some fun snail mail during these difficult times?  Or perhaps you know someone or a neighbor that could use something to look forward to!  We are looking for seniors and those that could use some extra holiday cheer to call the DCA at 403-286-2555 ext. 1 or email admin@dalhousiecalgary.ca with their name and full mailing address to get some fun mail sent their way!

**The information requested following this message will not be disclosed to the senior or anyone else aside from the event organizers. If a senior sends back a message to the child, it will be prescreened and sent by the DCA to the child and vice-versa.  We request that in the children’s envelope that you include the first and last name of the child (and the parent name as well), the full mailing address, and age of child.
